The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA) is a reminder to us all what is possible when we respect the beauty that our Earth provides and when we allow things to remain wild and untouched.
Every year I spend a week in this special place, with only what I can carry on my back (including the canoe!). It is such a privilege to experience nature as she’s meant to exist. The clearest dark skies and cool waters, a safe haven for flora and fauna away from most human interference. Waking up to the commune of birdsong and ending the day with the loon calls at dusk.
We must protect our public lands and treat them with the respect they deserve.
